About This Blog

On July 30, 1987 I was saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  The simplicity of that one statement belies the great change that occurred that day.  Although I've spent many years of my life pursuing my own interests and goals, God has always directed me in a path that pointed toward Him.  The past few years have proven especially critical in the shaping of my Christian life.  I have discovered what I overlooked for so many years.  Salvation is not the final work of God in my life.  It was surely just a beginning.  God has shown me the great power that comes from studying the Bible and allowing the Spirit of God to use the scripture to guide and change my life.  This is the sanctification spoken of in 2 Corinthians 3:18:
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (KJV)
For far too long Christians have taken the regurgitated traditions of men and set them up above the Word of God.  We have paid lip service to the idea that the Bible is our only rule for faith and practice, but I want to live in that truth.  Anything less is to live without the power that Christ has won for me.  With this blog I hope to share the things that God has allowed me to see in His Word with the purpose of returning glory to Jesus Christ who has done everything for me.
